In the true sense of excellence, a Liswati student studying at BU Gaborone Campus did exceptionally well when he scooped all the awards during the recent Graduation held on the 21st October 2022 in Botswana.
Sipho Thwala was studying for BSc (Hons) in Network Security and Computer Forensics and scored a 3.75 GPA, which put him in the lead and thus scooped all the awards. Thwala swept awards in all categories, which include Best Student in BSc Hons in Network Security and Computer Forensics, also he won the Festus Mogae Award for the highest overall GPA score across all the programs, earning him a Valedictorian Award sponsored by De Beers, along with a cash prize of P5, 000.
Thwala mentioned that he registered in January 2019 and further elaborated that the course was for four and a half years, but he was exempted for one and a half years as he was already an IT professional. So he completed his studies in three years.
“During the COVID pandemic, the lockdowns meant we couldn’t attend classes physically and that reduced resources like the Forensic Laboratory at the campus. This achievement means a lot to me as it inspires me to go for more and share my experiences with others who are still eager to learn,” he said.
