After the successful launch of the 2022 Tertiary Institution National Road Show at Botho University, the roadshow kicked off in Palapye and Gantsi on the 7th March 2022 and will end in Rail Park Mall, Gaborone on the 5th April 2022. The roadshow will cover over 24 major towns and villages in Botswana. The launch event was graced by representatives from different tertiary institutions both private and public, media, and Access bank.
During the roadshow launch, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Communications, Mr. Golekanye Setume noted the possibility of the government cutting costs through cost-sharing between government and parents. This was also due to the effect of COVID-19 and hence the need to be more economical and strategic.
There will be 17 scholarships offered for a wide range of courses to the value of P3 million offered by participating universities, of which Botho University has offered two scholarships worth P403,200.
Access Bank will be a new partner for this year’s roadshow whose main objective will be to sponsor data collection, which all institutions will have access to. They will further offer free budgeting strategies to the scholarship beneficiaries.
