Botho University’s (BU) partnership with Gakgatla Community continues to grow in leaps and bounds, as this year BU partners with the Gakgatla community for an exciting Setapa ko Gakgatla Cultural Dance Festival which will be held from the 29th to 30th of July 2022. The festival will be filled with a lot of activities including a camping night, a workshop by Botho University, art exhibitions, and the highlight of the event will be the Setapa dance fest. Setapa is a traditional dance that denotes the celebration of a good ploughing season.

Botho University has worked with the Gakgatla community on various community initiatives since 2017 when BU held a community service day. BU has also engaged with various stakeholders to give back to the community, where it partnered with ITEC Botswana and donated a photocopier to Gakgatla Primary School.
