Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) recently celebrated a huge sponsorship valued at P135, 000.00 from Botho University (BU) on the 31st August 2022, at a glitzy event hosted at BU, Gaborone Campus.
In attendance were BU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Communications), Mr Golekanye Setume, key sports stakeholders, and the media. In his keynote address, Mr Setume celebrated BU’s relationship with the chess community and highlighted several chess events BU has supported and even sponsored a prestigious event where World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand visited Botswana.
BCF President, Mr Mooketsi Segaise delightfully shared that sponsorship will be devoted to hosting Botho University Tertiary Schools & Brigades Chess Individual Championships scheduled from the 3rdto 4th of September 2022 at BU.
