    Botho University and Deggendorf Institute of Technology Forge Academic Partnership


    On October 19, 2023, Botho University hosted esteemed guests, including the President of Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT), Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber, and Chancellor Mrs. Birgit Augustin. This distinguished party was joined by Her Excellency Margit Hellwig-Bötte, the German Ambassador to Botswana.

    The purpose of this significant gathering was to engage in fruitful discussions regarding potential collaborations between the two esteemed educational institutions. The topics of conversation ranged from the possibilities of fostering staff and student exchanges to the creation of double degree programs and the exploration of collaborative research opportunities. Dr. Sheela Rajaram, Vice Chancellor of Botho University, expressed her unwavering optimism about this partnership by acknowledging DIT’s eminent status as a leader in research, technology, and entrepreneurship. She underscored the fact that the presence of English-taught programs at DIT would open up a plethora of opportunities for cooperation.

    The pinnacle of this visit was marked by the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Botho University and Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT), thereby cementing their steadfast commitment to future collaborative endeavors.
