Thirty-four Botho University students have returned from a transformative four-month internship experience in the United States, gaining invaluable insights and skills in the hospitality industry. Through a partnership with Awesome Travel Placements, they worked at esteemed five-star hotels such as Big Cedar Lodge and Broadmoor Resort. Guided by Ms. Nametsegang Motshegwa and Ms. Bojosi Olebetse, students gained hands-on experience.

Tlamelo Moswete stressed the importance of detail in luxury settings, Zandile Phiri emphasized personalized service, and Maatla Maembolwa highlighted the impact of housekeeping on guest satisfaction. Furthering these achievements, 23 more students have been selected for a one-year program at The Broadmoor Resort. These experiences enhance Botho University’s reputation as a leader in hospitality education, with students set to make significant contributions to the industry.

Botho University proudly supported "Umhlanga" 2024, an event in Manzini, Eswatini dedicated to empowering young girls and emphasizing the importance of education. Pro-Vice Chancellor Mr. Golekanye Setume, Campus Head Dr. Viswanathan Sankaranarayanan, and Ms. Sindisiwe Mhlongo represented the university at this impactful event. Botho made a meaningful contribution by donating 800 dignity packs, valued at R100,000.00, to aid young girls in their educational journeys. Through this initiative, Botho University reaffirms its commitment to empowering young women to prioritize education for a brighter future.

Tackling Employment through Internationalization at Botho University

On 9th July 2024, at First Place, CBD, Gaborone, Botho University Botswana and FNB Botswana marked a significant milestone with the signing of an MOU. This agreement covers student internships, graduate placements, guest lectures, graduation award sponsorships, and membership in the Industry Reference Forum, a formal governance structure that invites industry experts to give inputs into curriculum, industry trends, and fosters research collaboration.
