    BU receives generous book donation from the German Embassy

    German Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Boette handed over German Language books to the Faculty of Health and Education- Department of Education and Language Skills on the 16th of March 2023. Botho University, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sheela Raja Ram, expressed gratitude for the growing partnership with Germany, which continues to benefit the institution fruitfully and most importantly the students.

    In her keynote address, German Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Boette, fondly recalled when she first arrived in Botswana in September 2020, the first university she visited was Botho University. She mentioned that the books would be instrumental in giving students international exposure and an appreciation of the German language, literature, and culture. She praised Dr. Yemurau Gwatirisa for reaching out to the German Embassy to coordinate the book donation and her contribution to teaching the German language at Botho University.

    Dean of the Faculty of Health and Education, Dr. Thokgamo Boitshwarelo, eloquently expressed that the books will significantly enhance Botho University’s capacity for teaching and cultivating an appreciation for the German language among eager learners.
