For this year’s competition, a new innovation track was added, six innovation projects were carried out in six countries. There were prestigious judges from UNESCO and the University of Johannesburg, there were also dignitaries including governors from Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Kenya as well as UNESCO regional directors.

“It was an eye-opening competition! I had the opportunity to compete against students from various nations and obtain an understanding of where my competence in innovative solutions ranks. I’ve discovered that Huawei courses emphasize academic information along with practical lab activities that are useful in handling daily challenges. I believe that this competition will inspire more students’ interest in ICT learning in Botswana and throughout Africa, hence encouraging more students to participate,” shared Boago Okgetheng from #TeamBU Botswana.
